
1941.- All time great Joe Louis, retained his heavyweight title, defeating hulking Abe Simon by TKO in the thirteenth round, at the Olympia Stadium in Detroit, Michigan. Referee, Sam Hennessey, stopped the pulverizing one way traffic, at one minute and twenty seconds. The Judges were Dave Butler and Frank Neville.
1963.- Cuban Ultiminio Ramos defeated American Davey Moore by knockout in 10 rounds, winning the WBC featherweight title. The match took place at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

2009.- In a fight held in Stuttgart, Germany, Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko knocked out Cuban Juan Carlos Gomez in the ninth round, defending his WBC heavyweight title.
