1976.- Thai Saensak Muangsurin defeated Japan`s Lion Furuyama by decision after 15 rounds, defending his WBC super lightweight title, in Tokyo, Japan.

1993.- Mexico`s Víctor Rabanales retained his WBC bantamweight title, defeating Filipino Dadoy Andujar by decision in Inglewood, California.

2003.- Nicaraguan Ricardo Mayorga, surprised the world by knocking out the North American Vernon Forrest in three rounds, conquering the WBC welterweight title, in Temecula, California.

2017.- Thai Wanheng Menayothin defeated Filipino Melvin Jerusalem in Phitsanulok, Thailand, defending his WBC straw-weight title.

1980.- Ana María Torres was born. She is one of the finest boxing champions that Mexico has ever had. A brilliant career, in which she won several world titles and many awards. She retired in 2012 leaving a great legacy.
