Lightweight world Champion, Beau Jack, also known as “Georgia´s shoeshine boy,” faced the three times world Champion, Henry “Homicide Hank” Armstrong, who was in the twilight of his career. Beau Jack defeated him by unanimous decision in 10 rounds. The bout took place at Madison Square Garden in New York, where Beau Jack was an established favorite. The Referee was Bill Cavanaugh.
