On this Day… February 22^nd  

1986.- Thai Sot Chitalada defeated Mexican Freddie Castillo by decision in Kuwait. In this fight the WBC flyweight title was at stake.

1992.- Terry Norris defeated Carl Daniels by knockout in the ninth round, in a fight held in San Diego, California, successfully defending his WBC super welterweight title.

2003.- In the Monumental Plaza de Toros México, in Mexico City, a card was held with three WBC titles at stake. Erik Morales defended his featherweight title by knocking out Eddie Croft in the third round. Jorge “Travieso” Arce also knocked out Ernesto Castro in the first round, defending his light flyweight title. In another fight, Jose Antonio “Jaguar” Aguirre defended his straw-weight title by knocking out Juan Keb Baas in 7 rounds.

2020.- In one of the best fights of the year, British Tyson Fury knocked out American Deontay Wilder in the seventh round in Las Vegas, Nevada, conquering the WBC heavyweight title.
