1963.- Filipino Gabriel “Flash” Elorde defeated Italian Johnny Bizarro by decision, to win the WBC super bantamweight title, in Manila, Philippines.
1970.- Joe Frazier knocked out Jimmy Ellis in the fifth round in New York, to win the WBC heavyweight crown.
1974.- Italian Bruno Arcari defended his WBC super lightweight title, winning by disqualification against the Spanish Antonio Ortiz in Torino, Italy. Ortiz was disqualified for head butting. Arcari vacated his title to move up to welterweight after this fight.
1983.-S.T. Gordon defended his WBC cruiserweight title by knocking out Jesse Burnett in 8 rounds, in Rutherford, New Jersey.
1985.- Bill Costello defeated Leroy Haley by decision in 12 rounds, in a bout held in Kingston, New York. Costello defended his WBC super featherweight title with this triumph.
2008.- Mexican Cristian Mijares defended his WBC super flyweight title, defeating American José Navarro by decision, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
2013.- American Adrien Broner knocked out the British Gavin Rees in the fifth round, in Atlantic City, New Jersey. With this win Broner retained his WBC lightweight title.
