1936- Billy Conn, known as the “Adonis of Pittsburgh,” defeated rough and tough Fritzie Zivic by split decision in a ten rounds battle, at Duquesne Garden of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Referee was Al Grayber and the Judges were Alvin Williams and George MacBet. Three years after this fight, Conn conquered the light heavyweight world championship, and in 1940, Zivic won the welterweight title. Conn defeated left-hander Melio Bettina and Zivic beat Henry Armstrong.
