Boxing legends Julio César Chávez and Jorge “Travieso” Arce will face each other in an exhibition fight for altruistic purposes, on March 7, at the Multiple Use Center in Hermosillo, Sonora.
After his confrontation last November, done to raise funds for the benefit of the young boxer Christian Castillo, who suffered an injury in a training session, an exhibition rematch began to be planned almost immediately.
This attractive fight will have a great undercard with World Boxing Council affiliates title fight, plus nine more bouts including quality prospects.
The card presented by Zanfer Promotions and 2M Promotions has the main goal to raise funds on the benefit of the JC Chavez Foundation to serve young people in addiction through the successful program that promotes mental health in society of the Ministry of Health of the Government from the State of Sonora chaired by Enrique Claussen.
The fact that the event will be televised throughout Mexico by Azteca 7, the Boxing House, is an extra motivation for fighters who already have a place in the boxing folklore.
Undefeated knockout Omar “Pollo” Aquilar (16-0-0, 15 ko’s) will defend his Youth Superlight world title plus top prospect David “Rey” Picasso (13-0, 5 ko’s), will defend his WBC super bantam Youth belt.
In another interesting fight for the FECARBOX Feather crown endorsed by the WBC, Bryan “Latino” Acosta (13-0-0, 7 ko’s) will put on the line his undefeated record versus the experienced Jesus “Jibarito” Ortega (17-4-0, 11 ko’s).
