International lightweight champion Devin Haney will face Mexican Antonio Morán at the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.
It’s the main event of a Matchroom Boxing extravaganza, which will be broadcast live on ESPN KnockOut on Saturday throughout Latin America.
Moran declares it’s high time to show the world that he’s an elite fighter, and what better opportunity than to do it this Saturday facing Haney, who’s considered one of the best prospects in American boxing.
In an interview with ESPN, Morán commented:
“I feel very good for this fight. We’ve prepared two months for this moment.(24-3, 17 KOs). My experience will be fundamental in this fight, I have faced great rivals before and I will show that I belong here in the elite.”
Antonio stressed that because of his power and experience, he will undoubtedly be the best rival Haney has faced in his career. Devin, 20, who’s six younger than the Mexican, will arrive with a record of 21-0 and 13 knockouts.
But confident mature Antonio predicts: “I am his best opponent so far, and this May 25 I will be victorious. The important thing is to win. We are positive, we will leave a good impression with the fans and I will bring the WBC international belt to Mexico”.
