This Friday at the Tokyo Dome Hotel in Tokyo, the Japan Boxing Commission, the Japan Professional Boxing Association and sports journalists, held an award ceremony for the most prominent fighters of this country in 2019, and it`s a monstrous triumph!
The winner as fighter of the year and best fight is Naoya “Monster” Inoue (19-0 / 16KOs) for the fight he held against Filipino Nonito Donaire.
Another of the award-winning fighters was the World Boxing Council’s light flyweight champion, Kenshiro Teraji (17-0, 10 knockouts), who in 2019 made two successful defenses against tough plus capable rivals.
In June he knocked out Filipino Jonathan Taconing in the fourth round and in December he knocked out another Filipino, namely Randy Petalcorin.
Teraji said that 2020 plans to make three WBC crown defenses to get 10 successful defenses.
