
The World Boxing Council is delighted to announce that the legendary fighter Micky “Irish” Ward will attend our Annual Convention, in Bangkok, Thailand.
This important gathering brings together some of the most distinguished figures in world boxing, offering a unique platform for dialogue, promoting higher safety standards in the sport, and strengthening the bonds within the boxing community.
The Convention will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 30 to December 5. Activities will include keynote conferences, champion and trainer panels, a gala dinner, autograph sessions, and special tributes to those who have left a lasting mark on the sport.
About Micky Ward:
Born on October 9, 1965, in Lowell, Massachusetts, USA, Micky Ward is renowned for his courage and endurance inside the ring. He starred in some of the most memorable fights of the late 1990s and early 2000s, with his legendary trilogy against Arturo Gatti forever securing his place in boxing history and in the hearts of fans.
Throughout his professional career, Ward stood out for his aggressive style and unbreakable will to keep fighting, even in the toughest circumstances. Though he never captured a world title from the major sanctioning bodies, his legacy transcends belts—he is remembered as a true warrior of the ring, admired by fellow fighters, critics, and fans alike.
