Mercado aims to cement WBC super-bantamweight title against Chiwandire

Yamileth Mercado will make the fifth defense of her World Boxing Council super-bantamweight world title, facing Interim champion Kwdakwashe Chiwandire of Zimbabwe.

It will take place at the Manuel Bernardo Aguirre Gymnasium in Chihuahua, Mexico, on March 18.
Chiwandire, 27, is one of the toughest fighters around and has shown it in her most recent bouts, winning the interim title and subsequently defeating experienced Mexican Zulina Muñoz.
Yamileth Mercado who`s still only twenty-four will be defending her crown for the fifth time. She has been Champion of the World since 2019.
