Menayothin will defend WBC crown in March
World Boxing Council minimum champion, Wanheng Menayothin (52-0, 18 KOs), will make his next defense on March 1, against a former rival, Japan’s Tatsuya Fukuhara (21-6-6, 7 KOs).
He has won 2 fights since they clashed in an even fight in in November of 2017. For Wanheng, the fight will be his eleventh defense of the WBC minimumweight title that he won in November 2014, defeating Mexican Oswaldo Novoa.
Wanheng is famous for surpassing the 50-0 record of Floyd Mayweather Jr, last year when he defeated Filipino Pedro Taduran, improving his record to 51-0.
For Fukuhara this is a great opportunity, because in the first fight he had against Wanheng, he was very competitive.
