Marc Castro defends WBC Continental Americas title

Riyadh Season and Turki Alalshikh hosted a free card for Southern California boxing fans on Wednesday night.

Matchroom Boxing and Bash Boxing produced a show that took place on the iconic Santa Monica Pier, a venue that attracts nearly eight million visitors per year and was headlined by Marc Castro vs. George Acosta.

Castro (13-0, 8 KOs) took advantage of this opportunity to show his great quality by stopping Acosta (17-3, 3 KOs) in the seventh round and defending his WBC Continental Americas super featherweight title.

In the co-main event, Uzbekistan’s Shakhram Giyasov out-powered Miguel Parra to score a 10-round split decision victory.

Giyasov (16-0, 9 KOs), a silver medalist at the 2016 Olympic Games, survived a points deduction to beat Parra (22-5-1, 14 KOs) in a welterweight matchup.

In another super middleweight bout, Nathan Lugo (2-0, 2 KOs) defeated Ray Corona (4-2, 0 KOs) in two rounds.
