
World Boxing Council silver cruiserweight champion, Congolese Ilunga Makabu (25-2, 24 KOs), triumphed by knocking out Russian Dmitry Kudryashov at home in Ekaterinburg, Russia, to win the vacant WBC Silver cruiserweight title, and on August 24, also in Russia, at the Traktor Sport Palace in Chelyabinsk, he fights undefeated Russian Aleksei Papin (11-0-0, 10 Ko’s).
Papin and Makabu fought on the same card on June 6, where both get victories. In this fight Makabu aims to successfully defend his WBC Silver crown, so he can chill out and aim even higher, for the absolute belt.
