World Boxing Council featherweight champion Mark Magsayo (24-0, 16 Ko’s), fights undefeated former Mexican world champion, Rey Vargas, on July 9.
This highly anticipated fight will take place at the Alamodome in Texas and will top the bill.
Magsayo won the WBC crown by defeating former world champion Gary Russell Jr. by majority decision in Atlantic City, New Jersey last January.
Vargas, who reigned in the super bantamweight division, is undefeated in 35 fights with 22 knockouts. He comes to this fight after defeating Leonardo Baez by wide decision.
“I am very happy that this fight has come to fruition. I feel very happy and very motivated to obtain the victory,” commented Vargas.
“It cost me a lot to get the world title. I’m ready for Vargas. We’re going to have a great training camp to come out with our hands up,” said champion Magsayo.
