“Magnifica!” Jessica González draped in Green and Gold

At High Noon,  noon in the beautiful Hacienda de Cortes, the new Interim WBC interim bantamweight champion, Jessica González was presented with the belt that recognizes her as a champion and which she won by defeating in Russia, the local undefeated Tatyana Zrazhevskaya by split decision.

Jessica, who travelled to Russia to face Tatyana,  told  the specialized press that she never doubted that she would return to Mexico with the belt because despite not having been active, she never stopped training and staying in shape because she knew that at any moment an opportunity could come to return to the ring.

The new champion had patiently waited for the moment to return to the path of triumph and to wear once again,  the famous colours of the WBC. Today after some time and thanks to the hard work and especially the trust of the promoter Chacales Promotions, led by Estrella Valverde and her husband Daniel, Jessica saw her dream fulfilled  and today from the hands of WBC President Mauricio Sulaimán and her mother Carolina, Jessica received the Green and Gold Belt. 

Visibly moved, the interim champion thanked the leader of the WBC, for the opportunity and the confidence that the WBC extended to her by giving her the opportunity to go to Russia and fight for this championship. She also extended her gratitude to her coach Raul  “Chamaco” López who has always been in her corner, but also to two people who implicitly trusted in her boxing and her abilities, who brought her out of inactivity and led her to win: Estrella Valverde and Daniel Dominguez, from Chacales Promotions.

At this very special and poignant moment, the President of the WBC, presented the Chacales Promotions team and “Chamaco” López the coach’s belt, a recognition of the work and dedication that they devote to their pupils.

Already with the belt in hand and with tears in her eyes, Jessica said that even when she has a degree in Business Administration, her passion and her true vocation is boxing, and she does not imagine her life doing something else.

Her next plans are to defend the interim belt as many times as possible and then look for the opportunity to face the absolute champion Yulihan Luna with whom she already fought in 2014.

Finally, Jessica promised to continue working with discipline and dedication, because she knows that only with perseverance can dreams be achieved.
