“Loma” vs. Lopez classic on October 17

WBC Franchise champion, Vasiliy Lomachenko From Ukraine, will face US Teofimo López, on October 17, at the MGM Grand Bubble, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Promoter Top Rank officially announced the match to be broadcast on ESPN.

“Lomachenko-Lopez is the best fight you can do in boxing, and we are thrilled that it will be available to fans live on ESPN,” said legendary promoter Bob Arum. “Teofimo and Vasiliy demanded the fight, and we are glad we were able to make it happen. Vasiliy has never backed down from a challenge since turning pro and Teofimo is a young champion in search of greatness. This has all the makings of a modern boxing classic.”

Lomachenko (14-1, 10 KOs) comes into this fight after a brilliant decision win over British star Luke Campbell in August of last year.

Lopez (15-0, 12 KOs), of Honduran roots and a Brooklyn resident, has quickly emerged as the most charismatic young superstar in boxing after his professional debut in 2016.
