He joined the Waterloo regional boxing academy, where he met a former-amateur boxer who taught him many things. Arnie Boehm became his coach and mentor.

After making two successful defenses, on September 24, 1994 Lennox lost the title against Oliver McCall who KO’d him. But he set the record straight in a rematch, with a TKO in the fifth round.
The “Lion” as many call him faced rivals of the highest level. One example is that memorable battle against Mike Tyson who after receiving sustained punishment was knocked to the canvas.
Lewis fought for the last time against the Ukrainian Vitali Klitschko who was an elite fighter, after two chaotic rounds, he badly cut Vitali on the eyelid. On the advice of the Ring Doctor, the Referee stopped the fight in the seventh round.
