“Lazarus” Javier Fortuna extends promotional pact with Sampson Boxing

Sampson Boxing announces  the extension of the promotional contract with the Dominican fighter Javier “El Abejón” Fortuna.

Fortuna (35-2-1, 24 KOs) has fought under the Sampson Boxing banner since his professional debut and has had one of the best careers in Dominican boxing history.

Currently,  the 31-year-old “Abejon” is the # 1 world lightweight contender for the World Boxing Council. He`s expected to face Britain`s Luke Campbell at the end of the pandemic for the WBC Interim Lightweight Championship. The winner of this match must face champion Devin Haney.

“If I died and was born once more,  I would sign with Sampson all over again. I will soon become champion and I have to thank my promoter Sampson for all the opportunities he has given me in my career,” enthused Fortuna.

He will soon have the Green and Gold Belt and I could not be happier and more proud of all his success. My fighters are like children for me.
