Callum “King” Walsh will defend his WBC Continental Americas super welterweight title against Elias “Latin Kid” Espadas on June 26 at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California, United States.
Callum won his title on March 15, 2024, when he knocked out Dauren Yeleussinov in the ninth round. Previously, in 2023, Walsh was the WBC USA Silver Super Welterweight champion.
The promising southpaw who is from Cork, is trained by Hall of Famer Freddie Roach. He will fight Espadas, who is trained by Manny Robles and has already fought Xander Zayas and D’Mitrius Ballard.
The Mexican fighter was the WBC FECARBOX Middleweight champion in 2017. He contested the title against Alan Carrillo, whom he knocked out in the second round.
Event promoter Tom Loeffler commented: “Following his impressive knockouts in front of packed crowds in Dublin, Ireland, and New York, we are excited to bring boxing’s most promising young international star, Callum Walsh, back to Southern California. Elias Espadas just fought to a sensational draw in a super welterweight clash against undefeated Sadriddin Akhmedov on April 19 and jumped at the opportunity to take on another world-class fighter.”
Callum “King” Walsh has an undefeated record of 13 wins and 11 KOs.
Elias “Latin Kid” Espadas holds a record of 23-6-1 with 16 KOs.
