Undefeated Canadian fighter Kim Clavel had a spectacular year 2022 in which she managed to be crowned World Boxing Council light flyweight champion, by defeating the Mexican Yesenia Gómez, taking a well-deserved unanimous decision in ten rounds at the Montreal Casino in Montréal, Canada.
As the rounds went by, Clavel showed her quality by making Gomez miss, successfully counterpunching the Mexican, taking a resounding victory.
“My promoter was very happy with my last performance winning the title from Yesenia Gómez. He was very motivated to allow me to unify the titles. He told me that he believed that I am at the top of my career and that I deserved much more than an optional title defense,” Clavel commented.
After the victory, promoter Yvon Michel got down to work so that this 2023 the Canadian can become undisputed champion.
On January 13 at Place Bell in Laval, Canada, carnation will seek to take an important step with the firm intention of making history this 2023.
Clavel is currently focused on Jessica Ney Plata, but she does not stop looking to the future, as she is very interested in finally fighting Seniesa Estrada, one of the best pound-for-pound fighters.
“I had high hopes of facing her, but now I mustn’t think about her. I need to focus on Jessica Nery Plata to become a unified champion” acknowledged Clavel.
