On Tuesday, the WBC held a purse bid to define the rights to organize the mandatory fight between the super featherweight Silver champion Khalil El Hadri from France; and Michael Magnesi from Italy.
A&B Events was the promoter that won the rights to carry out the fight with an offer of $169,086.00 USD. The other offer was from BAM Promotion of $136,400.00 USD.
One of the most innovative rules that will be used in this fight is the 10% bonus for the winner, which is equivalent to $16,908.60 USD.
Khalil El Hadri (20-2-0, 10 KOs) comes to this fight after having conquered the WBC Silver crown last December, defeating William Vargas in 11 rounds. In his most recent appearance, Michael Magnesi (24-2-0, 13 KOs) defeated Kevin Trana by a wide margin.
“It is a great achievement to bring this important title to Italy, a great economic and organizational effort on the part of A&B Events, which, however, is sure to promote the best Michael Magnesi, spearhead of Italian boxing and beyond. Surely one day we will see him with the green and gold belt between his waist. But now our goal is the Silver belt, which Magnesi held until a few months ago. But above all we are convinced of winning it in front of our people,” commented Alessandra Branco, from A&B Events.
The event will take place at the end of March in Valmontone inside the Magic Land amusement park, where Magnesi became WBC Silver champion on March 31, 2023.
“I’m waiting for this fight to take back something that belongs to me, I’m ready to put on a great show,” commented Michael Magnesi.
