Keeping Track:  Spence Jr. vs. Porter

This Saturday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the World Boxing Council welterweight champion, Shawn “Showtime” Porter, will face IBF champion, Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr  in a  unifying match.

Porter (30-2-1, 17 KOs) was crowned a year ago when he defeated Danny Garcia, and subsequently made a defense against the Cuban Yordenis Ugas, defeating him by decision. Spence Jr. (25-0, 21 KOs), was crowned champion in May 2017, defeating English fighter Kell Brook.

As part of the WBC safety regulations, both fighters have successfully submitted their respective pre-weighings of 30, 14 and 7 days, as well as their MRI and medical exams.
