Brit Luke Campbell and Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko will fight for the vacant WBC lightweight vacant title this Saturday at the O2 Arena…the stage where they managed to win gold medals during the 2012 London Olympics.
Lomachenko will arrive with a record of 13-1 and 10 knockout, while Campbell will do so with 20-2 and 16 knockouts.
The WBC recognizes the professionalism of both fighters and their respective teams, as they have fulfilled all the medical requirements, exams and safety protocols needed.
The paramount priority of the World Boxing Council is to always protect the health of fighters.
We very much appreciate the work of William Boodhoo, who is responsible for timely monitoring of all of these requirements.
