The long awaited fight between Jackie Nava and Mariana Juárez was slated for May 9, but due to the health contingency that the world is going through due to the Covid-19, it could be postponed.
In a telephone conversation with the Mexican newspaper ESTO, Jackie Nava commented: “I see it difficult for this date to be maintained and despite the fact that the promoters have not commented on a postponement, I consider that the best thing would be to reschedule it.
“I think the best thing is change the date, there is a lot of concern, people are also having a hard time right now. I hope this problem disappears soon.”’
Despite everything, the work plan focuses on May 9 and in case his bout moves, Jackie has already visualized the adjustments she would make to his training camp.
“We know that if the fight is officially postponed we should adjust the training camp, so there would be time to even get better.”
Regarding the work she does in the gym, Jackie commented that she had never experienced a situation like this.
“I have to go to the gym in the afternoons, but there is hardly anyone there anymore, it’s just me and my team at that time to try to have as little contact as possible. I have never experienced anything like this, but right now health is the most important.”
