The Latin Business Association (LBA), a private non-profit organization established in 1976, has presented WBC champion Jose Carlos Ramirez, its Athlete of the Year Award.

It serves as the unifying voice for Latino companies, advocating opportunities that place business owners in a higher class of competitiveness. At its annual gala dinner, the super lightweight champion of the World Boxing Council, José Carlos Rámirez was awarded by the LBA, as athlete of the year, recognizing the two important matches he won this year. The first against the tough fighter Jose Zepeda, getting a majority decision victory and then he unified his WBC crown by knocking out the then WBO champion Maurice Hooker.
The WBC and its President Mauricio Sulaiman applaud and congratulate Jose Carlos, wishing him the very best for the coming year.
