World Boxing Council flyweight champion, Julio César Martínez, will defend his crown against undefeated Welsh Jay Harris, as part of the card topped by Mickey Garcia and Jessie Vargas, tomorrow night at Frisco’s Ford Center at the Star, Texas.
Martinez, who won the Green and Gold Belt by knocking out Nicaraguan Cristofer Rosales. Now he’ll face Welshman Harris, who has an undefeated record of 17 wins, nine of them by knockout.
For the 29-year-old Harris this will be his first fight in the United States and title championship bout, so Martínez has the experience of his side, despite his 25 years of age and 16 fights as a professional (15-1).
Both were trim at the official weigh in today:
“Rey” Martinez 111.4 pounds.
Jay Harris 111.8 pounds.
The card will be broadcast live on DAZN in the United States and on Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.
