The undisputed super bantamweight world champion, the undefeated Japanese Naoya “Monster” Inoue (27-0/24KOs), 31, will face the world ranked Irish southpaw TJ Doheney (26-4/20KOs), 37, on September 3 at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Naoya Inoue’s most recent fight took place in May 2024 at Tokyo Dome in front of a large crowd of 43 thousand spectators and he was able to demonstrate his knockout power by demolishing the Mexican Luis Nery.
Doheney comes to this fight after knocking out the Filipino Bryl Bayogos in 4 rounds last May.
Inoue assures that for the moment he has no intention of moving up to the featherweight category but that his current plan is to continue in super bantamweight, at least two more years in search of more achievements.
