In 1982, the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) created the Professional Boxer’s Pension Fund in California, to provide support for former boxers in the final years of their lives.
The Fund is administered by the Sports Commission of the State of California and has collected thousands of dollars for eligible boxers who unfortunately have not been located.
This is the list of selected boxers to receive financial support:
Some requirements to qualify for financial support are the following:
-Be at least 50 years old
-Have fought at least 10 rounds a year in a 4-year period in California, with a break of no more than 3 years.
-Having fought 75 rounds in scheduled fights in California, with a break of no more than 3 years.
