Boxer health and safety has always been a priority within the WBC, and we are confident that the new “BoxMed” app and platform fully supports these efforts as it has easy-to-access modules such as:
Recommendations: Suggestions are sent to boxers in order to maintain their general well-being at all times. They can be about activities (body care, mental health and general health care), nutrition and hydration or training.
Weighing: Boxers will be able to record and keep track of their weight to keep track and stay within the regulatory standards for their well-being and professional performance.
Wounds and Injuries: Boxers will be able to receive a real-time assessment of a recorded wound or injury, in addition to monitoring the evolution to detect any complications in a timely manner, facilitating medical assessment.
Medical Certificate: The certificate is issued by the official doctor of the boxer’s Commission or the WBC. Boxers will be able to view and consult their already issued certificates to find out if they are “Fit or Unfit” to fight.
Although BoxMed is simple and intuitive to use, training is provided to committees that wish to be part of the program in order to master its operation.
Today we can say that the WBC has taken a great step in boxing, a technological advance that adapts to the needs of the boxing community and to which it is essential to adapt.
