In our ongoing series focusing on Heroes of Humanity, here is an account of a heroine who fought back from the brink of adversity, showing the willpower of sheer tenacity to triumph and then progress.
What an account this is!
Hi, I’m Bernice Gaytan Fuentes. I am a cancer survivor, like many people. But boxing helped me to radically change.
Thanks to boxing I was able to change my way of life, and help more people to do this beautiful sport. I sought to certify myself at the WBC university in pandemic as a boxing coach level 1.
I gave free online classes during the pandemic in order to lower people’s stress level and take care of their health.
This year I gave a TedX talk, extolling the importance of boxing and how it helps you discover your abilities to overcome life’s challenges.
I Worked giving conferences to companies and giving boxing classes, seeking to help children with cancer in Mexico. I help girls and women to participate in this beautiful sport, working towards gender equality.
No person deserves to suffer for health. It is vitally important to make the population aware of physical activity through boxing.
