The World Boxing Council joins the celebration of Thanksgiving, one of the most popular family holidays in the United States, as it is a date when we can give thanks for all the blessings we receive.
This holiday, held on the last Thursday of November, lasts until Sunday and for many it has an even more special meaning, since it is the beginning of the Christmas Season.
It is said that its origin dates back to 1621, in Plymouth, when pilgrims after spending a winter of full hardships and deprivations, were helped by the indigenous peoples offering them support in the work of cultivation, hunting and fishing in the following Spring.
So, in the fall of the same year, the settlers offered the Indians a feast for the good harvest.
It was President Abraham Lincoln who decreed last Thursday of November as a national holiday for the celebration of this Union day.
For everyone we have to Thank
For everything we’re grateful for
For every smile and act of Love
For those we’ve lost, for those we’ve found
For Dreams and hopes of a world at peace
For those next to you, to cherish, support and Love
Happy Thanksgiving
