Today is the 246 anniversary of Independence Day of the United States.
On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Continental Congress, two days after the historic vote to separate from Great Britain.
The Declaration, drafted by Thomas Jefferson, who eventually became President and who fatefully died on July 4, is basically the birth certificate of the United States as a country independent of British power of the crown and parliament.
The World Boxing Council joins in celebrating this important date for this great nation.
