World Boxing Council lightweight champion,Devin Haney, will defend his title against former world champion, Yuriorkis Gamboa, on Saturday, November 7, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, in Hollywood, Florida.
Haney (24-0, 15 KOs) returns to action for the first time since November 2019, after injuring his right shoulder, defeating Alfredo Santiago in the first defense of his belt in Los Angeles.
Devin underwent successful surgery on the injury and is now good and ready to resume his quest to dominate the lightweight division.
Gamboa (30-3, 18 KOs), a former Cuban world champion and Olympic gold medalist, is seeking to become a three-time world champion in his third attempt, after unsuccessfully challenging Terence Crawford and Gervonta Davis.
Haney and Gamboa, showing their great commitment and professionalism, sent their 30-day pre-weigh-ins to the WBC, showing that they are in top condition. Haney made 143 pounds, while Gamboa reported 146 pounds.
