WBC number 1 contender, Canadian Kim Clavel (15-0, 3 KOs), will finally face World Boxing Council light flyweight champion, Mexican Yesenia Gómez (19-5-3, 6 KOs), who will defend his world title on Friday, July 29, at the Casino de Montreal, Canada, on a card promoted by Groupe Yvon Michelle (GYM).
This Wednesday both warriors were up close face to face, at a press conference prior to their fight.
“It’s 20 minutes of work that can change the rest of my life. This preparation was very special, I feel it in my muscles. I’m in great physical shape for the most important fight of my life so far, because there will be others after my triumph,” stressed Clavel.
For her part, the champion said: “It is the first time that I fight outside of Mexico, but it is not a factor that determines the fight. We had a great training camp, and I am ready to get into the ring. It will be complicated, but I will come out with my hands held high.”
Gomez vs. Clavel has been postponed three times, which has naturally increased the tension and rivalry between the two fighters, who are eager to get down to business.
