Golovkin returns in June
The return to the ring of former World Boxing Council middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin is close to being finalized on June 8 at Madison Square Garden in New York, against a rival to be defined.
Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs), who announced the start of his training in Big Bear, California through his social networks, turned 37 yesterday.
Golovkin, who resides in Santa Monica, California, signed a three-year, six-fight contract with the DAZN broadcast service a few weeks ago and will be fighting for the first time since losing by a close majority decision against Mexican Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.
If Golovkin and Alvarez, who also has a long-term agreement with DAZN, defeat their respective rivals, it is likely that they will fight for the third time this year.
