Fury vs Wilder III, the best fight of the year for the BWAA

The Boxing Writers Association of America chose the Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder III, as the best of the year.

2021 delivered a plethora of quality and dramatic fights in certain divisions, but the BWAA analyzed all the battles and found the most recent fight between Fury and Wilder to be the best of all.

This was their third battle. The first fight was on December 1, 2018, and the fight ended in a draw. In 2020 they met for the second time, in a high caliber duel, where Fury defeated Wilder in round 7. To complete the trilogy, both boxers met at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 9, 2021, and in round 11, Wilder was defeated once again.
