The main super welterweight contender, Sebastian Fundora, and the hard hitting Serhii Bohachuk will clash for the vacant World Boxing Council super welterweight title, on Saturday, March 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but they’ve already shared a ring, as Fundora commented.
“It will NOT be the first time we are in the ring. We used to train with Bohachuk all the time, We trained a lot before facing Ve’Shawn Owens and the fight afterward. We stopped training around 2019, maybe early 2020. Bohachuk and I have practiced thousands of rounds together. But that’s a thing of the past, now we’re both now in different places as fighters.
“It is an honor to have shared so many rounds with him. I wouldn’t rather have this world title fight against anyone else. He is a fighter who comes forward and throws a lot. I know he might be stronger now, but what I see is the same aggressive style. My job is to show the difference between us on March 30.”
“This time we’re in the mountains with snow, rain and bears, but other than that, it’s the same camp and the same team that has gotten us to this point, We’ve done a great job here so far and we’re on track for March 30. For me, training camp is about doing what I’m told. It’s a small circle and my dad is the leader of everything. If I step out of line, he is there to show us the best way.”
Fundora will return to the ring for the first time since he suffered the first and only loss of his professional career against Brian Mendoza. Fundora, who was ahead on all three scorecards at the time of his stoppage, explained how he was able to quickly overcome the loss and, while some changes have been made, his signature all-action style remains.
Tickets for the March 30 live event, promoted by TGB Promotions, are now available through AXS.com. The main event is promoted in association with No Limit Boxing and will be available on Prime Video.
