Undisputed female world super middleweight champion Franchón Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2 KOs) puts all her belts on the line against Savannah “The Silent Assassin” Marshall (12-1, 10 KOs) on June 17 at AO Arena in Manchester, England.
Both fighters were face to face in a press conference. This is some of what they said:
Crews-Dezurn
“We’ve had a bit of banter over the years. I wanted to fight. She used to fight at 168. I don’t know how she missed me, the longest reigning super middleweight champ in history. I don’t know how we missed each other but timing is everything. June 17 we’re going to get it on”.
“I’m very, very pleased. Marshall is a phenomenal fighter. We have long history. I just want to give her respect for taking another hard fight. She gave a valiant effort in October against Shields. It might not be the same this time. It might be a little worse this time”.
Savannah Marshall
“There’s no weight cutting, no being drained for fights so I think this weight will suit me a lot better. I believe I’m at world level and if I can’t mix it with the likes of Franchon what good am I in boxing? Our styles have changed to suit the pros. I’m no mug, I’m not overlooking her. It’s going to be a hard night’s work. She’s a tough, rugged, very experienced fighter but I believe I beat her.”
