
Former Nicaraguan fighters receive support from the WBC
Eduardo “Mouse” Mojica, known in Nicaragua as the uncrowned champion, was the first Nicaraguan fighter to be benefited in 2014 by the Jose Sulaiman Boxers Fund rom that year, receiving a grant to support him and his family.
Thanks to the efforts of Bismarck Morales, representative of the WBC in Nicaragua, other fighters including former world champion Eddie Gazo, have been benefited with this great help from the WBC.
On Tuesday, three other ex-boxers joined the list of beneficiaries: Luis Cortez, the man who was assistant to Alexis Argüello, who succumbed to Venezuelan champion Betulio González; Pedro “El Toro” Zúñiga, who was defeated by Roberto “Manos de Piedra” Durán; and Pedro Márquez, another prominent fighter in the seventies and eighties.
During a press conference held in Puerto Salvador Allende, which was attended by former world champion and current ambassador of the WBC, Rosendo “Bufalo” Álvarez, They were each presented with a check.
