Horacio Accavallo is one of our most mature champions!
Horacio was born in the neighborhood of Villa Diamante, Lanús, Argentina, on October 14, 1934. He comes from a very humble family. His father made a living collecting garbage, so from a very early age he learned the ethic of hard work, by helping his father along with his brothers.
Around the age of 15 he began boxing and, after a long career as an amateur, on September 21, 1956 he made his professional debut when he defeated Emilio Ávila by technical knockout in five rounds.
Horacio was Argentine and South American flyweight champion, and then his moment of glory came on March 1, 1966 in Tokyo, when he was crowned world champion.
During his long career, Horacio Accavallo fought 83 fights, with 75 wins (34 KOs), two losses and six draws.
The WBC congratulates Horacio on his birthday and wishes him the absolute BEST on this, his so special day.
