Undisputed female middleweight world champion Claressa Shields, participated this Tuesday in an open media workout in Miami, in preparation for her next fight, which will be against Ivana Habazin, on Saturday October 5 live on SHOWTIME from the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center in Flint Michigan
This is what Claressa commented at the end of the training at 5th Street Gym in Miami Beach, made famous by Muhammad Ali and Angelo Dundee. Claressa said:
“I love boxing and I love being one of the women that drives women’s boxing, making it bigger and better known in the world. We are getting more respect. There are fighters out there who believe they can beat me and that really motivates me.
“I want to show everyone that I am a great fighter. I can beat Vasiliy Lomachenko’s record of winning titles in three divisions in 10 fights instead of 12. Also, I’m going down in weight, where there will be better challenges for me. My performances will lead to bigger fights and bigger purses for me and my opponents. I’m just going to continue building my name.
“It means everything to have this fight in my hometown. I want to be good news for Flint and make people smile. I am happy to bring a fight home. I feel that Flint will cheer up with that.”
