WBC, WBA and IBF middleweight champion Claressa Shields (12-0, 2KOs) and WBO champion Savannah Marshall (12-0, 10KOs), have their “High Noon” duel for the undisputed 160-pound championship, on Saturday at The O2 Arena in London.
The Shields vs. Marshall hair trigger draw is characterized by years of ten paces rivalry. The two fought in amateur boxing, with Marshall defeating Shields by decision in 2012 in Qinhuangdao, China. Shields went 77-1 as an amateur and is the only female boxer to win undisputed titles in two divisions as a professional.
The World Boxing Council has honored the Memory of Queen Elizabeth II with the Creation of “Elizabeth II“, a special belt that will be awarded to the winner of this Historic Fight.
This Friday both fighters breezed the official weigh-in of the evening, alighting on the scale at 159.3 pounds.
