
This Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, World Boxing Council flyweight champion, Brit Charlie Edwards, will defend his crown against Mexican Julio César Martínez (14-1-0, 11 Ko’s), as part of the card headed by Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko and local Luke Campbell.
Edwards (15-1-0, 12 Ko’s), comes from defeating Spaniard Ángel Moreno by unanimous decision, in what was the first defense of his world title.
Martinez comes from winning a final elimination by stopping Welshman Andrew Selby.
Both fighters presented their pre weigh ins of 30 and 14 days without major problem. Edwards presented the 7-day, while Martinez hasn’t sent it yet. The world champion presented the medical exams in, while Julio César has yet to present them.
All these requirements are required by the WBC in order to preserve and protect the health of the boxers.
