Bill and Linda Young support Drew and his involvement of numerous charities as well supporting some of their own.
“Our family and friends have been touched with many tragedies and we go forward together.”
On February 27th, Drew performed a Johnny Cash concert with some of his talented friends from him in order to raise money for the Pacific Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, run by Dr. Cameron and a part of UCLA. It was lively, professional and full of heart and goodwill. If you saw the concert, like I had the pleasure to, you know how wonderful and uplifting it was.
In Drew’s words: … “Meso found us, and we have had a personal relationship with them ever since. So, naturally I’m drawn to the cause and I’m all about” that charity “when I’m part of “that charity.” And that’s how I am when I’m involved with every charity that. It’s just a natural thing because you build relationships and you see first hand some incredible testimonials.
“Our contribution to MESO specifically was when we offered to give the placenta from Luke’s birth to the organization. Two days before he was born, I was performing and DJing at their 2019 Walk. I had a conversation with Dr. Cameron and offered Luke’s placenta right then and there.
“Literally on the morning of Luke’s birth, they came into the room and got it from us. Luckily we were at UCLA and Dr. Cameron is part of UCLA. And for purposes of keeping the placenta in good condition and refrigerated, it was perfect. Due to Luke’s condition, it helps with their research even more by having this specific placenta. At the time they picked it up, we wouldn’t know if Luke was going to live. But he did. . ”
