Devin Haney (22-0, 14KOs), a 20-year-old resident of Las Vegas, is fully focused on his next fight, contesting the lightweight interim title of the World Boxing Council, against dangerous Russian contender Zaur Abdullaev (11-0, 7KOs), on September 13 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, live on DAZN.
“I am very motivated for this crucial title fight. I’m sure that I can defeat Abdullaev and then it’s time to consider and factor Lomachenko.
“Everything is happening at precisely the right time. Everything is falling into place for my career. I always hoped to be where I am by now. To win my first world title. It’s the right time to prove that I’m the best.”
Haney is a young man who has dedicated his life to Boxing since he was seven years old. As an amateur he won 7 national championships with a record of 130-8. He became the youngest member of the United States National Junior Boxing Team and was the youngest boxer to win the World Youth Championship in Nevada.
Abdullaev (11-0 7 KOs), is no slouch either! He’s fourth ranked by the WBC. He comes to this fight as a WBC Silver champion, a title he won in his ninth professional fight in April 2018.
