Ukrainian Sergiy Derevyanchenko will face World Boxing Council middleweight champion Jermall Charlo on September 26 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville.
Derevyanchenko says he is dedicated and motivated to contest the world crown and is confident that he will become the new WBC champion.
“When the call came to fight Charlo, I was ready to go back to the gym and do a great preparation. Charlo has talent. You don’t become a world champion by luck. He is a good fighter and I am preparing for his best version,” Sergiy said.
“This is going to be a great fight, but I think my experience and skill set will be too much for Charlo. I don’t want to disrespect him, but I think I’m at a level that Jermall has never been before. He hasn’t boxed anyone with my skills, and I will become the WBC middleweight world champion.”
