David Benavidez is honored in his native Phoenix

Undefeated two-time world champion and Phoenix native David “El Bandera Roja” Benavídez received a proclamation from Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego in her press session on Wednesday, as stated by the Mayor’s Office this Saturday, November 13 “David Benavídez Day”, in his hometown.

Benavidez, 24, will face contender Kyrone Davis this Saturday night live on Showtime in a Premier Boxing Champions event, from the Footprint Center in Phoenix.

Benavídez was accompanied by his older brother José Benavídez, who will face Francisco Emanuel Torres in Saturday’s co-main event, and his father and his coach José Benavídez Sr in Wednesday’s event at the Central Gymnasium. of Boxing.

The event also featured the unveiling of a mural of the Benavídez family outside the boxing gym in honour of the city’s boxing stars.
