The heavyweight interim champion of the World Boxing Council, Russian Alexander Povetkin, will defend his title in a sizzling rematch, against former British champion Dillian Whyte, in the main fight this Saturday in Gibraltar.
Dillian Whyte will have an opportunity to avenge his loss to Alexander Povetkin. Whyte (27-2, 18 KOs) was knocked out by Povetkin (36-2-1, 25 KOs) last August, at the Matchroom Fight Camp, in Brentwood, Essex.
Brixton’s Whyte had fully controlled the fight, knocking his opponent down twice in the fourth round, but was caught off guard by a left uppercut at the 30 seconds exclamation mark, of the fifth round, which ended his hopes in an instant.
The fight, which is promoted by Matchroom Boxing, Eddie Hearn, will be televised on SKY in the UK and on DAZN.
