Tomorrow night, José “Chon” Zepeda (31-2-0, 25 ko’s) and Ivan Baranchyk (20-1-0, 13 ko’s), fight an eliminatory clash and for the WBC Silver super lightweight belt at the MGM Grand Bubble in Las Vegas, Nevada, which will be broadcast on ESPN and SPACE.
Zepeda has already contested the World Boxing Council super lightweight Championship against champion José Carlos Ramírez, losing by majority decision, but none the less, offering a great fight. In his most recent bout, he defeated tough former Puerto Rican world champion José “Sniper” Pedraza.
Ivan Baranchyk, a Russian based in Oklahoma and who was already conquered a world championship, is looking to win a silvery WBC Green and Gold title.
This Friday both warriors passed the weigh-in without problems. Zepeda tipped 139.9 pounds, while Baranchyk 139.6 pounds.
